E-Transcripts -v- Ascii

Which one is right for you?

E-Transcripts have become the standard in the industry. Depobook Court Reporting Services offers this technology free of charge to all of our clients. We are able to import the original court reporter's ascii file and convert it into a fully executable, self-contained transcript file that the end-user can open, search, print, condense, copy/paste, and take full control of the testimony all by simply double-clicking the transcript file.

We have prepared a number of short user-friendly video clips that walk you through the most simple tasks of navigating an E-Transcript, including how to down-convert the file back to simple ascii text for quick import into Summation or Livenote or any other litigation support system.

Important E-Transcript Information

Please refer to the tips below:

Many of today's secure office servers will NOT allow an E-Transcript file to be sent via email to the receiving attorney. E-Transcript files typically are created as an application (.exe) file which are blocked by most server virus protection programs. A very nice way around this problem is to simply download your transcript file via the Depobook Online Repository and you can retrieve the E-transcript quickly and easily. This service is free to all Depobook clients.

Alternatively, we can email you the E-Transcript file in .ptx format which will pass through your email server and be easily downloaded to your desktop. This process requires a one-time download of the E-Transcript Viewer available here
