Livenote Realtime Certification
April 20th, 2007
I just recently attended a Livenote Certification program in San Francisco and would note that we are now officially Livenote certified to provide realtime support for our clients. We have always had a real grasp on all forms of realtime software, be it Reallegal®, iBinder™, LiveNote® or Summation™, but this just filled in some of the necessary supporting information to help us better demonstrate and support realtime connectivity to our clients.
Of course the subject came up of the Engate patents buy-out, which should have made the “realtime token” a thing of the past. Our trainer mostly dodged the question of why are we still paying for the realtime tokens if there is no more liability involved in the use of Livenote software. The answer was pretty much, “The attorneys know that that’s simply another cost of litigation support.” Perhaps a few attorneys look at it that way. Some of our more cost-conscious litigators will take a much different view of being charged a virtually meaningless “token” fee for every realtime hookup.
I’ve even heard rumors that Livenote is probably headed down the path of monthly/yearly user licensing or “rental” fees, if you will, anyway, and that will override the token issue for most firms.
That being said, it’s still the most popular realtime software out there, and it has much to offer your litigation support staff.
If you would like more information on Livenote realtime or streaming internet realtime or video/text synchronization just send me an email and I’d be glad to point you in the right direction.
